Calculate tip amount, total bill, and split among any number of people. Fast and free.
Tip = Bill × Tip% ÷ 100 | Total = Bill + Tip | Per Person = Total ÷ PeopleTip amount equals the bill multiplied by the tip percentage divided by 100. Total bill = original bill + tip. Per-person share = total ÷ number of people.
Calculate the tip amount and total bill for any service. Enter the bill, choose a tip percentage, and split the total among your group — all in one step.
Enter the bill total, set the tip percentage, then enter the number of people. The calculator divides both the tip and the total evenly. If someone wants to pay a different share, adjust the split count and handle the remainder in cash.
Many restaurants add a service charge (often called "gratuity") automatically for large groups — usually 18–20%. Check your bill before adding another tip. The line "service charge" or "gratuity" means it's already included.
15% is the minimum for good service, 18% is common, and 20–25% is generous. For exceptional service or complicated orders, 25% or more is appropriate.
This calculator splits the total tip and bill equally among guests. For unequal splits (e.g., separate orders), use the split bill calculator instead.
